How does Dream FIRST connect to and support FIRST?
Dream FIRST is a stepping stone to FLL and FRC. It is our hope that as it is implemented in communities, it will launch many new Junior FLL teams along the way.
Why does Dream FIRST need the help of other teams?
In order to continue to grow and expand, both geographically and creatively, the Dream FIRST initiative needs the support of as many FIRST teams as possible. A wider network of support for the initiative will lead to many more opportunities and resources to reach out to the community, design new components, and help it reach other cultures and communities.
What common elements unite the initiative’s method?
All components focus on inspiring children to achieve and reach for their dreams. They are united by the themes of gracious professionalism, safety, and learning. The characters, primarily Gizmo, Oliver, and Euki, also provide consistency across the components.
When did this initiative start?
This initiative was born in August
of 2003.

What is Gizmo?
Gizmo was Farmington High School’s first
competitive robot, made famous after
winning the Regional “Rookie of the Year”
Award. Also, he is one of the main characters
in the Dream FIRST book series.
What does this initiative consist of?
The program consists of a series of children’s books, a
touring robot replica of Gizmo, science and
technology related activities, original music, and educational
toys and puzzles. All of these items
will become available to both schools and
retail stores as they are developed.
What is the book about?
The book Meet Gizmo: The Start of a Journey ©, which was recently published, is the first in a series of five stories that follow the adventures of
Gizmo and friends as they explore the world
of science and technology.

The Enforcers is the name of the
FIRST Robotics Team 178 of Farmington
High School and creators of
the Dream FIRST initiative.
